Characters:

-Joe Pistone/Donnie Brasco-

Also known as "Donnie Brasco," Joe is the main character of the movie. Joe works for the FBI and is instructed to infiltrate the mafia. Joe hangs out in a bar in New York that mafia associates also hang out in. He earns himself a reputation around town about being a diamond expert.

-Benjamin "Lefty" Ruggiero-

Lefty is played by Al Pacino and iis a veteran of the Bonnano family. He has a girlfriend and a son who live with him. His son has a bad drug problem and overdoses twards the end of the movie. Lefty is known to be a big animal lover and often watches nature shows. Despite the fact that Lefty has been a trusted soldier of the family, he is never given a chance to move up, and often speaks of just getting on a boat and just leaving. Lefty takes Donnie under his wing and shows him how the business works.

-Lefty dies at the very end of the movie. He is called to a "meeting" shortly after the crew discovers who Donnie actually was. Lefty is killed for letting such a breach occur in the secretive Bonnano crime family.

-Dominick "Sonny Black" Napolitano-

Played by Michael Madsen, Sonny Black takes over the small crew consisting of Donnie, Lefty, Nicky, and several other soldiers and carries out robberies, hits, and rackateering. He doesn't show Lefty much respect and often takes credit for his ideas. Although, the real life Sonny Black was more like Al Pacino's character in the movie.

-Nick "Nicky" Santora

The comic relief of the crew, Nicky(played by Bruno Kirby) is the comic relief of the crew. He often keeps up with current trends such as going out to Sushi restaurants and kneeling while eating. He also is a ruthless killer and nothing phases him when he is working.

-Nick is killed by members of his own crew. Sonny Black is suspicious that there is a rat(informant) in the crew and suspects it is Nicky, so he shoots him in the back of the head.
